Job hunting can be a challenging and sometimes demotivating process, but I believe in the power of perseverance and doing what I love. For me, creating something and seeing the results come to life is truly magical. It’s a way to stay motivated and inspired, even in the face of setbacks. Recently, I decided to channel this passion into exploring a new skill: automation testing.
Automation testing is a highly sought-after skill in the tech industry, and I thought, why not give it a try? It seemed like a great opportunity to challenge myself and expand my skill set. I chose Playwright as my starting point and decided to test it out on a badminton app that I frequently use.
I started this journey last night, dedicating 8 hours to diving into Playwright and running some trial tests. The results? I’m genuinely happy with what I’ve achieved in such a short time. While there’s still a lot of room for improvement, I’m proud of the progress I’ve made. Seeing tangible results after just 8 hours of effort has been incredibly rewarding and has reignited my enthusiasm.
This experience has reminded me of the joy of learning and creating. It’s a testament to the idea that stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new can lead to unexpected and fulfilling outcomes. Automation testing might be a new field for me, but I’m excited to explore it further.
To anyone feeling stuck or demotivated, I encourage you to take a leap and try something new. Whether learning a new skill, starting a project, or exploring a hobby, you never know where it might lead. This journey into automation testing is just beginning, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes me.
With my solution, all I need to do is select the date, court, and time slots I want to book. From there, I let Playwright work its magic behind the scenes. Once set up, the automation takes care of everything—logging in, navigating the booking system, and reserving the desired slots. And just like that tadaaaa! The process is complete.
Not only was it a fun challenge to implement, but it also saved me a lot of time and effort. Automating repetitive tasks like this reminds me of how powerful tools like Playwright can save my time to doing it one by one.
